The Scan & Share service has been adopted by 365 hospitals and more than 5 lakh patients have benefitted from it. The QR-code-based instant registration service drastically reduces the wait times in the OPD registration areas of the participating hospitals.
The Scan & Share service for faster OPD registrations was introduced by the National Health Authority (NHA) under its flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in October 2022.
The QR codes displayed in patient registration areas can be scanned by patients using applications such as ABHA, Aarogya Setu, EkaCare, DRiefcase, Bajaj Health, and PayTM and share their ABHA profile with the HMIS of the hospital. The process is entirely paperless and the token is generated instantly. The patient’s health records also get digitally linked to their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) which can be managed and accessed from their phone anytime, anywhere.
With increased adoption, patient registrations can be made effortless, seamless, and accurate. Apart from Government hospitals, several private hospitals are also enabling ABHA-based registrations for their patients. The service is currently live in 125 districts across 25 States/ UTs in the country. Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi are the leading states to adopt the Scan & Share service for a better patient experience.
NHA has also achieved the milestone of registering 2 lakh health facilities like hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, imaging centers, pharmacies, etc. in the Health Facility Registry (HFR). The HFR aims to serve as a single source for verified information on health facilities across the country. The patients can get credible information about the facilities from https://facility.abdm.gov.in/.
